Shalimar Trailer Rental: Quick Pickup, Honest Pricing
Most people looking for a trailer in Shalimar are not planning weeks ahead. Something has to go to the dump, a car has to get home, or a job over on Poquito Bayou starts Monday morning. Our yard sits on Lee Drive in Mary Esther, a few minutes out depending on how Eglin Parkway is moving.
That short run is the whole point. You book online, come grab the trailer, do the work, and have it back the same day without losing half a Saturday to driving.
Acone's is veteran owned and licensed in the state of Florida. If you are stationed at Eglin or Hurlburt, or you are helping family move in or out of town, you will get straight answers and a fast turnaround.
What Shalimar customers rent
Four trailers cover the work, and each one is built for a different kind of load.
- 6x10 dump trailer for palm fronds, oak leaves, Old Ferry Road yard projects, and roof tear-offs. The tarp comes with it.
- 7x20 car hauler, Ole Faithful, for one-off vehicle moves, ATV runs, or hauling a project car home. Seven foot aluminum ramps and a wireless winch are included, so low cars load without drama.
- 8.5x24 equipment trailer for the contractors working homes along Poquito Bayou. It is the heaviest rated trailer in the fleet at 16,000 GVWR, and 3/8 chains and binders are part of the rental.
- 7x36 gooseneck when the load is simply too long to sit behind a bumper pull. At 36 feet it is a full 12 feet longer than the 8.5x24.
Check the hitch before you drive over
Nothing kills a Saturday faster than getting to the yard with the wrong ball on your truck. Here is what each trailer needs.
Hookup basics
- Every trailer in the fleet runs a round 7 pin light plug.
- The 7x20 car hauler takes a 2 inch ball.
- The 6x10 dump and the 8.5x24 equipment trailer take a 2-5/16 inch ball.
- The 7x36 gooseneck needs a gooseneck hitch in the bed, not a bumper pull ball.
- Bring your driver's license and proof of insurance. Both are required before a trailer leaves the yard.
Make sure your truck can pull it
A vehicle that is fine for a yard cleanup is not always fine for a loaded equipment trailer. Loaded weight, not empty weight, is what your truck or SUV has to handle, and each trailer page lists its GVWR and payload so you can do the math before you book.
Never hook up a trailer whose loaded weight passes what your vehicle is rated to tow. Run your truck or SUV through our free Tow Vehicle Guide first, and if the numbers look close, call us before you reserve.
How booking works
Pick your trailer, pick your dates, and pay online. You can pay in full at checkout or leave a 50 percent deposit, and sales tax is added to your quote before you pay. Daily, weekly, and monthly rates are listed on every trailer page, and every trailer except the 7x36 gooseneck also has a half day rate for short jobs.
Cancellations made 48 or more hours before pickup receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are subject to a 25 percent fee. Damage protection is available at checkout if you would rather not carry the full risk yourself, and there is a $150 copay if you use it. The details are on our protection plan page.
We are open seven days a week, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., so a Sunday cleanup is no harder to book than a Tuesday one. Pick a return time you can actually make, since late returns are subject to a late fee.
Working a job outside Shalimar this week? We serve the whole area, including Fort Walton Beach, Valparaiso, and Niceville, and each of those towns has its own page: Fort Walton Beach, Valparaiso, Niceville, and Mary Esther. Delivery is available too, if you would rather not tow the trailer yourself.
