Freeport is growing fast, and we feel it in the bookings. New construction off 331, land clearing out toward Black Creek, and equipment moves to and from the Walton County yards keep our bigger trailers busy on the east side of the bay.
Our yard sits in Mary Esther, so a Freeport run means a trip across the bay. That is worth planning around. Pick the trailer that actually fits the load, then pick the rate that fits how long the job really runs.
Here is what Freeport folks usually reserve, what it costs, and what to have ready before you hook up.
What Freeport customers rent
- 8.5x24 16K equipment trailer (Big Bertha) for skid steers, dirt work, and contractor hauls. It comes with a wireless winch, straps, and 3/8 chains and binders.
- 7x36 gooseneck (Goosey) for tractor moves, mini excavators, and multi vehicle loads. The open center with a steel mesh floor keeps the trailer light so more of the rating goes to your payload.
- 6x10 dump trailer (Lil Dumpy) for construction debris, brush, and yard cleanups. A tarp is included, which matters on a windy run back down 331.
- 7x20 car hauler (Ole Faithful) when you are moving a single vehicle or a load that will not fit in a truck bed. It carries a pair of 7ft aluminum ramps for low cars.
Daily or weekly: where the break-even sits
Short jobs are cheaper by the day, even with the drive. Two days on the 8.5x24 is $250 against $600 for the week, so a weekend project should be booked daily. The weekly rate wins once you need the trailer about five days or more.
Daily and weekly rates, and where the week starts paying off:
- 7x20 car hauler: $95 a day, $400 a week. The week pays off past about four days.
- 8.5x24 16K equipment: $125 a day, $600 a week. Past about five days.
- 6x10 dump: $100 a day, $500 a week. Past five days.
- 7x36 gooseneck: $160 a day, $800 a week. Past five days.

Make sure your truck can pull it
The gooseneck and the 16K equipment trailer are real trailers with real weight behind them. Check your tow vehicle, your hitch, and your ball size before booking, not in the driveway on Saturday morning. Our tow vehicle guide walks you through it in a couple of minutes.
The gooseneck needs a gooseneck hitch in the bed. The bumper pull trailers use a 2 inch or 2-5/16 inch ball depending on the unit, and all of them run a round 7 pin plug.
Bring a valid driver license and proof of insurance. Both are required before you take a trailer out, so have them ready when you book to keep pickup quick.
How booking and payment work
You can reserve online, and we are open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day if you would rather talk it through first. At checkout you can put half down as a deposit or pay in full, whichever you prefer. Sales tax is charged on top of the listed rate.
Plans change, so know the cancellation terms up front. Cancel 48 or more hours before pickup and you get a full refund. Inside 48 hours, a 25% fee applies.
We also offer a damage protection plan you can add at checkout, which is worth a look on the bigger equipment hauls. If hooking up and towing across the bay is the part you would rather skip, ask about delivery when you book.
